I just received my new laptop (Sager NP8255) and I installed my own OS (Windows 7) and then installed the device drivers + utilities for windows 7. As I went to install the Intel VGA driver (Intel graphics) I realized I didn't need to because I have the GTX 770M on this laptop. So, I installed the Nvidia driver after that. After I was done installing all the drivers I needed and updating windows, I went back to control panel and "uninstalled" the intell graphics driver because I didn't want the laptop to run on the intel graphics.

Result: My screen went black.... I shut down the laptop manually.... turned it back on and it made this loud beeping noise. I turned it back off again manually and waited a while. I turned it back on for a 3rd time and it started up normally but using the standard VGA from the motherboard (poor quality picture). I then did a windows restore point prior to uninstalling the intel graphics driver and it fixed the display but now it seems like my pc is running slower and its not as responsive.... I did a dskchk, defrag, ccleaner sweep, and now I am on the verge of just starting over and reinstalling windows.

Did I screw up my hard drisk or my cpu or Nvidia chip?

Solution
Might need to do a fresh reinstall of the OS again (since you haven't put apps or data on it yet) to be on the safe side. As a norm, Laptop / computers come with built in Video, basically the idea is you shouldn't need a 'seperate expensive gaming video card' just to type in Word or watch youtube cat videos. Great idea, but then the segment of the consumers that are Power Users, or wanting to do Gaming / High End Business in a timely manner got screwed. So they added a SECOND video card to the laptop / computer and ONLY kicks in when it detects heavier program usage (i.e. WoW, AutoCAD, etc.). So now you need TWO sets of drivers in many laptop/computers.

You probably do need BOTH drivers, that Sager( according to them) runs a hybrid graphics, as do other laptops including my wife's. Under low graphic demand, it used Intel's graphics (saves power/battery), & under high demand, switches to Nvidia.

Its best to install the Drivers for ALL hardware, especially with laptops.

If you dont want the Intel chip, You can go into the Nvidia control panel and choose to only use the 770M.

Id go to the Website and DL and Install the Intel driver, either in the normal windows environment or Safe Mode, And if your Still having problems, Id do a complete re install of the OS,

You did need both (I have the same laptop with a 780M) it has Nvidia optimus, meaning that is switches from dedicated to integrated depending on the workload.

Try powering-down, disconnecting the adapter and removing the battery, wait 30 seconds and reassemble, that has worked for me before (One time I accidentally disabled the Intel 4600 driver in device manager).

Not a 100% sure how it works, my bud said that there is a back-up chipset driver in the in the motherboard which allowed me to re-install the Intel 4600 driver

P.S. Great machine by the way, I love my Sager
