I know most reasons of a power cut are heat issues but i cant see any significant high templates.

I currently have a problem with my cpu and motherboard which is the motherboard gives a 95w output and my cpu needs 125w resulting in my cpu getting forced down to 2.9ghz.

It only happens when im playing one of my games.

Ive ordered a new motherboard but im wondering if this is actually the problem causing the power cut.

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-S2P
CPU: FX-8320
GPU: MSI GTX 760

On Gigabytes list of supported CPU's, the FX-8320 is not listed, the bios may not completely work with it.

I know that now :p  hence the new motherboard being ordered.

If it's not supported, & the bios is not written for it, you're luck it gets that far!

It runs fine for now except switching off when playing Battlefield.
The S2PV is supported, i was recommended this motherboard i never knew it didnt have the right TDP etc.

Would've my CPU been damaged?
