Hey everyone
I was trying to assemble a new build today. It's my first build in about 10 years.
I can't seem to get the thing to turn on at all.
I followed along with the new egg tutorial and attempted a test boot out of the case.
I tried both shorting the 2 power switch prongs with a screw driver and I put the case next to the setup and plugged in to the switch button but nothing. I have tried this with 2 different 550 watt psus and tested PSUs with the paper clip trick.
Finally I tried switching out the motherboard and still the same problem.
I have tried doing a boot with just a stick of ram and CPU/fan installed. I read that the motherboard should show some signs of life even if there's a problem with the CPU so I don't think that's it.
The motherboards are a gigabyte b85m-d3h and a gigabyte b85-hd3 and my processor is the intel i5-4430
I've gone through the installation steps multiple times to no avail so I don't think I'm missing anything I've plugged in the 24 prong and the 8 prong power connections securely.
What do you think?
