i Have a GTX 760 and an FX 8 core 8120

when playing games (that according to youtube videos) i should be getting 60 fps on, im getting 30

i found that my GPU is only working at 50% and i belive its because it is not getting enough power

my power supply is Xtremegear 700w powersupply

Solution
Let's focus on DayZ, GPU usage is low & so are frame rates....

Your temps on GPU are great, no issues there...

Temps on CPU, however are TOO High...

http://www.overclock.net/t/1134229/amd-cpus-max-temps

(I see 61C as max operating temp, most OC'ers are calling it quits before 70C...)...

When frame rates are low AND GPU usage is low, CPU is slowing things down.....

We can NOT OC your CPU, it's too hot already. It might even be throttling (slowing down to keep cool, look at a graph of CPU usage while your playing DayZ)
I'm betting you're using the stock AMD CPU cooler. We could play around cleaning dust outta the cooler, or, removing it and replacing the...

There's no such thing as your PSU causing performance bottlenecks. It can either handle components under load or not. If your PSU is inadequate, you'll experience things like immediate system shutdowns or resets, not reduced performance.

If that isn't the answer then you might want a better brand psu I've heard that Xtremegear powersupplies are very poor psu and can go bad pretty fast and you won't get what you should be getting out of the psu. Get a better psu with at least 80+ Bronze from one of these manufactures Corsair,Sesonic,Antec,Enermax,XFX.

but why if one of the 6 pin connectors gets unplugged would the gpu just preform slower then?

No, it then won't boot up. Again, this isn't some mechanical device, it is digital. It's either getting enough power to function normally, or it won't. Plain and simple. Not enough power being supplied? Card will cause bluescreens/system lock-ups/shutdowns, not reduced performance.

Let's pick a game, so we know What we're talking about here.... list the game and graphics settings your using. Also, run MSI Afterburner to find out what your GPU temps are in-game and CPU-Z for CPU temps... (IF either gets too hot, they WILL slow down...)

NO, a new power supply won't fix your problem with low FPS...

bf:bc2: maxed out. 150 fps. 50% usage. 40-60 celeus

dayz maxed out (ame framerates on lowest) 15-30 fps 40%-50% gpu usage 40-60 celcius

saints row 3 maxed out 60-100 fps 50-60% gpu usage 40-60 celcius

I'm betting you're using the stock AMD CPU cooler. We could play around cleaning dust outta the cooler, or, removing it and replacing the Silicon paste.... but, in the end it's a marginal cooler at best.

MY SUGGESTED FIX: You could get something basic like a Cooler Master 212 EVO: (that will fix your heat problem)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099

once the heat problem is resolved, your game should speed up. If Not, we can OC that CPU a bit and that will speed up DayZ which looks to be slowed (bottlenecked) by the CPU at present....

thank you :) i was getting quite worried because it was hitting max temps of 81 after like an hour of playing.

i was thinking about this for my cooling problem http://www.microcenter.com/product/404780/Hydro_Series_H55_Quiet_Edition_Liquid_CPU_Cooler

OMG, 81C is crazy hot for that AMD CPU.....

Yeah, closed loop water coolers are all the rage. Good performance and a nice clean look. They are still a bit pricey, but, if ya like 'em there still nice...

Here is a comparison H55 to H60 (these are kinda entry level):

Hydro H80 is Much better, and this refurb is CHEAP I grab this one for sure;
