My crossfire 7850s do not put out the FPS i expected

firstly when my crossfire is enabled on the AMD catalyst control center, the fans on the secondary GPU stop turning. Also, when i use speccy it shows my crossfired as disabled. i tried another program as well and it also said the same thing. Anyone have any advice? Is it possible my 2nd gpu is just bad?

I have that stopped fan issue with my Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 MB too. I think it is due to the CCC driver. If I run a pgm that is CF aware, the 2nd fan starts running. Your games may not be CF aware. Or you may not have the CF application profiles installed. (Although, if you are using the newest driver or the beta driver, you shouldn't have to load the profiles anymore)

In a CF aware game, you should get a MAX improvement in frame rate of about 80%. Run some thing like 3DMark with CF disabled and enabled and see what kind of difference you get. I used to have a pair of Sapphire HD 7870 Gigahertz cards that performed excellent in CF (X8,X8) with the beta driver.
