I have a game called operation flashpoint red River and some of the scenery appears as you get close to it???
in other words say like a bush or a branch on a tree just appears as you approach it,
is not there and then it is? it is like the graphics are being delayed? anyone ever see this?
it does not do it on any of my other FPS games so i am sure my rig is not at fault.

Solution
It's because the game doesn't load the textures until you get up close enough. This can either be due to the game's own limitations, the computer's limitations, or a combination of both.

It's a very common trait of games: http://www.giantbomb.com/texture-pop-in/3015-2778/

kind of thought so, LOL!
It is strange because i looked over the list of games common to this problem and i have several of those games i play frequently (crysis, warhead, rainbow six vegas 1 and 2, frontlines fuel of war and none of those do the "Texture pop in" but a game not on that list does? maybe i ought to email them to let em know? LOL

real limited graphic adjustments on this game, basic gamma adjustment, resolution scale,MSAA,V sync ,aspent ratio
and thats it?
it is a real fun game and the pop in's are not a deal/fun breaker for the game but i was more curious if my system was doing it on this one game and it looks highly doubtful.

Oh LOL autocorrect

But it looks like all you can do is ignore it

yeah it really is not that big a deal and now knowing for positive my system is NOT causing it is a big relief.
kind of a shame cause the actual graphics in red river are nice and these pop ins are kind of distracting but at least do not interfere with the gameplay.
