Hello everybody. I need to record a few hundred, 3 second segments from game replays. The software that everyone said would be best is MSIAfterBurner. The codec I use to record is the ffdshow video codec. The only problem with MSIAfterBurner is that when I am playing back the replay, it lags slightly. When I start recording, the frame rate doesnt change however, the recorded video plays the first second smoothly and then lags heavily throughout the rest. I just tried fraps and the frame rate while viewing the replay was very nice but as soon as I started recording, the frame rate dropped to 10. Is there anything I can do?

What are your system specs?

Do you have an Nvidia or AMD GPU? If you have Nvidia, and have a card above a GTX 660, have you tried shadowplay?

I understand that, its not cheap to get a new CPU, and you have to deal with motherboard compatibility.

When you play the replays, they dont lag, correct? its only after you record parts of them?

That is correct. The replays play fine when I'm not recording. When I start recording with certain programs, the replay lags slightly. But playing back the recording is strange. It's like Windows Media Player can't cache the frames of the video fast enough. It's really weird.
