I put a new SSD and HDD in my alienware m17x laptop today, did a clean window 7 install and then downloaded all the drivers. I then started the windows 7 update, it had me update 138 things and i restarted and everything was okay for about 5 minutes when i was had to restart after a software install. thats when it got stuck at the starting windows screen. i restarted and started windows in safe mode and started for about 5 seconds then shut down. I tried restarting in safe mode and then the cursor wouldn't move. I have no idea what to do now.

Solution
Those blue screen words are vital info. I had one bsod a while ago on my laptop and i ended up last resort filming my screen at the bsod and finding out the words, looked up the error and the solution fixed my pc.

You could try these
1. Go into boot setup options by tapping F12, F10 or the delete key on your keyboard depending on your motherboard right as your computer enters the loading screen on startup
2. Depending on your setup layout, look for the button to "load last known good configuration" and use it.
3. Or, in one of the panels there is an option to "load optimized defaults" or something with the term defaults, activate that.

Second
1. Repeat step 1, but into of going into setup go into boot manager.
2. Try to click on the windows 7 option.
Third- This might be a last resort and you might not wanna do this but.. it might be your only option
1. If you have them, put in your operating system recovery disk that name with the Alienware laptop and go through the setup to try and restore your computer.

I couldn't find anything like the things you mentioned. The only things there were the Legacy boot and UEFI
