Hi,

Recently my samsung Np370R5E-S05IN is switching off automatically. Whenever i started to play games within 5 to 10 min my laptop shutdown itself. I checked the laptop for overheating, it's not overheating at all. Moreover, i am using cooling pad. i am sure that i have the right configuration to play those games. Why this is happening, is it my processor problem? Is it possible to claim a warranty for new processor? I bought this laptop 6 months ago.

Hi,
Thanks for the quick replay, I tried playing games on both charger and battery. Both of them are not last long only 5 minutes after that laptop switch off itself. I will immediately call the customer care for replacement of processor.

first of, please stop dryhumbing after getting selected as best solution.
Second, how did you come up with the fact his processor caused it, as there could be tons of other things causing a laptop to shutdown.

+1.

reckoning, how did you come to the conclusion that you weren't overheating? This sounds like a classic case of it. Did you use a temperature monitor such as HWMonitor or HWiNFO? Have you cleaned the laptop of dust? Often the cooling pads don't solve the problem, they may just blow cold air to somewhere needlessly, such as a plastic panel that doesn't have any vents on it. They're generally not very effective.

Hi,

Yes i am 100% sure it was not overheating i used the HW Pro software to check the heating it never crosses 50, i am using a cooling pad. Moreover, i know there is no dust and the thermal paste is in good condition in my laptop because last Saturday i replaced the built in battery. So, obviously if there is any dust in my laptop the service center guys will cleared it.

It's not only games, game installation is taking too much time for example. when i bought the laptop i installed splintercell game in 40 to 50 minutes but now it took more than 1.30hrs. so then only i came to the conclusion my processor is not working correctly.

Do you mean the install or the download? The download time will differ since internet speed varies especially depending on the time of day.

I recommend you use prime95 in smallFFT for a few hours and then Blend test for a few hours. If you pass both of those without exceeding max temperatures (I wouldn't exceed 75C) then you're not overheating and both your processor and RAM are in fine condition.

You could also try general virus scans using your antivirus or a program like malwarebytes.

Hi,
I meant installation not download. i am using licensed version of e-set nod antivirus to scan for viruses. Anyway i will try the prime95 and blend test today and replay to you tomorrow.
