I am new to the forum and a beginner as well so the question might be have been asked and answered before, I am building a desktop and I bought an open box Mobo: the ASRock 990FX extreme3
The rest of the hardware is:
AMD FX-6350
XFX Radeon 7870
Kingston V300 120GB SSD
WD Blue 7200 - 6GB/sec 1TB HDD
2 x 4GB G.SKill Ripjaws 1866 RAM
RAIDMAX Hybrid modular 730W PSU
Corsair H80i water cooler
RAIDMAX Helios mid tower case
LG CD/DVD writer combo
Unfortunately I haven’t try my hardware before installing it in the case, so after installing everything and booting for the first time, after the bios screen, a message showed the following:
“bootmgr is missing please press alt + ctrl – del”
So when rebooting and entering bios and I noticed all bios functions are unavailable on the side as they usually are on the side of the screen of any ASRock mobo, a.k.a, the F functions like F5, F9 and so on…., for instance when hitting F9, it shows “load default” and when I choose “yes” nothing happens, anyone has idea how to solve this issue, I can’t even get beyond the bios screen. Is the mobo any good? Will flashing the bios do any good?
Thanks

you need to change the boot order to the cd-rom or your usb stick to install windows. if not you get a messge like that that there no os on the hard drive. check that on your motherboard the sata cables are on the amd sata 6g ports some motherboards have 2 sata chipset to give the mb more sata 6g ports. in the bios sata port needs to be set to achi mode. check that the hard drive is spinning if one of the drives are bad it hang the mb. look on the bios chip there a bios rev lable see if the bios is really old.
