Hi,

I am planning to build my own PC. This is my first time. I have been doing some research and I learned quickly that Asus makes the best motherboard. I hope I am not wrong on that. But I am afraid if Asus motherboard doesn't support the kind of components I would want to build my PC. Here are the rough components what I want.

Intel i7-4770K 3.5GHz LGA 1150
Atleast 8GB RAM
Geforce GTX 780 3GB? not sure what brand of PCI I should use. Open for recommendation.

Well, I would be using my PC mostly for gaming, surfing the net, chatting and doing my uni work such as codeblocks and etc.

Thanks for your help in advance.

The MSi z87-gd65 gaming motherboard is a good board for its price, with plenty of room for SLI/Crossfire if you want, 4 DIMM slots, and alot of overclocking tools (which I assume you plan to do based on the i7-4770k), the BIOS is tailored for overclocking actually, more than enough for you, and not too expensive. Here is a link for it on Newegg.

As an added note, this board comes with excellent, step by step instructions for beginners, complete with video tutorials at times, which should help ease you in biulding your rig.

You've made an excellent choice by sticking with Asus. You'll not be disappointed at all. Pl provide your budget considerations. I would recommend Asus Maximus VI Formula from ROG series purely for gaming enthusiasts. If budget is out of bound, you've option with Hero in same category.

CPU is i7 4770k
Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB 2400 MHz C10
GPU GTX 780 is good.

Need further change/advice. Let me know
