Audio issue with Mobo

Hey there.
I am having an issue with the front Audio jack. (this can also be because of the case itself.)

Basically if I put headphones into the front jack, it will work but only if I twist the cord and the headphones plug, or else I will only hear the sound in one ear, or hear nothing at all.
This is really aggravating because I just got my case a month or 2 ago and this is the only issue. The back jacks work fine with no issues, but my headphone cords are not that long.
Also I've tried plugging my headphones into various other devices and they work fine.

Would this be an issue with the Mobo's audio cable not being plugged in correctly? Or is it an issue with the case?

My mobo is: Gigabyte GA-Z87MX-D3H
My case is: Fractal Design Define R4

Thanks!

I mean the front I/O panel (I/O = Input / Output)

It's an issue with the I/O panel? I don't see how that's possible, it seems intact and I dont see the relation with the front audio jack. Then again I'm not as versed as everyone on this forum.
How would installing a new I/O fix it?
