I am using Windows 8 Pro with Media Centre (64 Bit). Recently my friend has accessed an option Phone and Modem in Control Panel. He has set a dialling options though I have no use for it, I have a Belkin N 300 Wireless Modem Router. Now, I cannot undone or delete the settings.
Would it cause any problems regarding working on my OS? Is there no way to delete it, would I have to reinstall Windows 8? If there is any alternative way, please please suggest.
(Next time I will use a password to access Windows 8, which should only be known by me, in order to avoid these unusual operations from outsiders and to take better care of my PC).

Is it causing any problems with access to Internet? If not just leave alone...it may come in useful if your B'band fails and you then have dial-up as a backup for email...(i.e. during local Power supply interruption.)

Solution

Do you see it in Control Panel/Network and Internet/Network and Sharing/Change Adapter Settings?
If so, Right Click on it and chose 'Disable' You could also uninstall the Modem in Device Manager.

No. I cannot see anything in Network Adapter settings except my LAN connections (which should obviously be showed up as I have one set up). I click on Control Panel/All Control Panel Items/Phone and Modem. In there, on Dialling Rules tab, I see my Location as India and Area Code as 700081. I tried to delete it but the Delete option does not pop up, only the New and Edit options pop up. No way to delete this option?

It would seem not. Nothing to worry about, this data will only be used if you employ your Modem to perform dial-up connection or FAX and will not affect any other operation.
