Hi..
This might sound a little wierd , but could you tell me the details of some GPUs that dosent need an external power supply from PSu via a 6 pin or 4 pin rail...

Solution
Not like there is no alternative, you could run a 7750, which consumes 55W and does not require a PCI-E connector.
However, it is recommended that you get a good PSU.
Higher quality PSU means quality power, and that means stability and longevity for your PC.

This one is actually for a friend..
You see, he recently bought a PSU (450W) and it dosent have a extra rail for GPU ..
after he started searching for Graphics Cards he found that most good GPUs dont draw power directly from GPU..
I suggested him GTX 650 and HD 7750 ...
Is there any other better solution to thsi matter?? any better GPU that dosent require direct onnections from PSu ?

So, there isnt any other alternative other than to switch PSU ?

Just out of curiosity ... Between HD 7750 and GTX 650 , Which would you choose ??

the 650 is more powerful - and I've literally chosen that.
I'm getting mine in 2 days.

There are 650's without PCI-E power connectors, such as the ASUS GTX650-E-1GD5, but I have purchased a PSU that has that connector, and can easily handle a 650, and I'd rather get the one that requires that connector, to have overclocking potential later on.
I wouldn't get a 650 on a cheap local power supply though. The power supplies literally suffocate graphics cards(even my Geforce 210 was bottlenecked; and it requires only 31W. I had an Odyssey power supply BTW, and now I got a Corsair CX430).

I have a GTX 650, works fine on a 280 watt Bronze power supply which idles at around 35 watts (the whole computer). Seems like this machine could handle quite a lot more GPU than the GTX 650 if not for the missing power connectors.
