hi guys just wondering if there is a problem with my gt430 or if its not a good enough graphics card for what i want

i want to play baldurs gate 2 enhanced edition and the system requirements that it states on the website is 512 mb memory i have 4gb and graphics says open gl 2.0

does my card have this ability and if not what is the cheapest way that i can get a graphics card with this ability

i love my rpgs and really want to play this game so any help is greatly appreciated

thnkyou for taking the time to read this and i look forward to hearing from you in the near future

your card supports opengl 2.0 so should have enough grunt to run the game. the card has 96 shaders so while its not gonna play the latest games it should play the likes of baldurs gate perfectly well. in fact any (apart from crysis) game that was made before 2009 should be very playable.
games like cod4, f.e.a.r. are both within the scope of that card. you may have to turn down some settings but they should still manage 60 fps low medium to 30 fps on medium high.

hi thanks for the quick reply is there any problems that could possibly be causing issues because the video on the game is running at about 2 frames per sec and sometimes doesnt even run at all but just hangs

i've only just wiped my pc and had to install windows xp because i have lost the disk for windows 7
and i installed (i think) a generic driver from the nvidia site is there a driver that is specific to my card model that you might know of

thankyou in advance

hi just to give you more info just went to nvidia site and entered my card model and then downloaded the driver they took me to and when im scrolling internet pages they are lagging a bit and the text is stretching before sorting itself out

i have SIW on my system and this is what is says about the hardware configuration on my system

MB: Biostar N68S3+
North Bridge: nvidia mcp61 revision a3
South Bridge: nvidia mcp61 revision a2
Processor: amd athlon II x2 255 (max speed 3100 mhz)
memory type: ddr3 (installed 4096mb available 3328mb)

just noticed that above memory it says "wrong values reported by bios"

graphics speeds 3d apps:
core clock 700 mhz
shaders clock 1400 mhz
memory clock 800 mhz
driver date is 19th dec 2013

hope this helps

yeah it sounds like your card is running of the vga stock driver. as your card is dx10/11 any nvidia driver for xp will work even the 1s for the 780gtx will run the 410. so just get the latest xp driver and you should be good to go.
your likely using xp 32bit so you will be limited to the 1gb of gfx and 2.7gb of actual memory. (3.7gb total) as all the memmory including the gpu is counted (5 gig total) but only 4 is usable.

http://www.geforce.co.uk/drivers/results/71750 xp 32bit driver for your card.

make sure your vga/dvi lead is connected to the gfx not the motherboard.
