Hi guys my budget is $850 and i want a gaming pc. i picked up i5 3570k and i wanna ask is gigabyte g1 b5 good mobo to overclock and for gaming

Solution

No it's not and that is because that motherboard doesn't support your CPU. The G1.Sniper B5 has a 1150 socket which supports Intel's newest generation.

And since you are on a tight budget, you don't need to buy a $200+ motherboard. You could save some money and get an ASRock Extreme4 or Asus P8Z77-V. Good motherboards for overclocking.

It's OK. If you plan on some serious overclocking, no. It only has a 4+1 power phase design which will cause problems for high CPU clocks.

If you are going for looks, stop. Get functionality first.
