Hi, I just built my very first gaming build yesterday using an ASUS Z87-A mobo and an Intel Core i3 4340 cpu, (full part list here) and I spent most of yesterday installing my drivers and such. But there is a problem. When I try to open AI Suite III or Remote GO! I always get this error message

Aisuite3

Invalid class string, ProgID:

"AsusFanControlService.FanControlManager"

Why is this happening?!? I really would like to fix it and use my new pc. Thanks!

interesting, this has happened before on many occasions.
This is worth a go:
Using a registry editor (e.g. regedit), go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\AsusFanControlService.EXE. Here you should look op the AppID of the AsusFanControlService. For me it was: {BEBCB884-9C21-4117-B30B-CED03A72B50F}.

Now navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{14083C53-B8E7-48E4-9320-811F3478C4A4} (the FanControlManager class). In here, create a new string value (not a key!). Make the name "AppID", and modify it to give it as data value the AppID you just found (for me that was "{BEBCB884-9C21-4117-B30B-CED03A72B50F}" like I mentioned before).

Reboot and you should be good to go.

When I go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\ I cannot find anything called AsusFanControlService.EXE. What should I do now?

Try reinstalling AI suite. I had that error happen a few times when I first built my computer but after an eventual reinstall things work well now. However I believe you need to run an AI suite cleaner at some point to fully get rid of everything left behind before you reinstall it (google to find)

THANKS MAN!
THIS WORKED FOR ME.

No more errors and the Suite (Thermal Radar) seems to be fully operational.

Second time it's happened after a registry cleanup.
The 'Cleaner' tool from Asus also works if you can get your hands on it, but this is a lot quicker.

Yeah this worked for me. Many thanks. Looks like most anti-virus software (AVG, Norton etc) clear this registry string.

I am desperately trying to fix this problem on my own PC but I can't seem to find AsusFanControlService.EXE under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID. Any suggestions on why this is the case. I so want to fix this problem. So frustrating :(

I'm having the same problem on October 15, 2014. I'm looking forward to trying this fix.

I would like to add a caveat: Whenever I use regedit to change or just look at the registry, the first thing I do is export (i.e., save) the current values of the registry into a .reg file, so that if something goes wrong, I can easily restore the registry before I changed it by importing the exported/saved registry.

This completely fixed the problem - and freed up the other modules within Dual Intelligent Processors 4 so that I could use the optimization module to increase performance by a significant amount: AMD A10-7850K up from 4100 MHz to about 4400 MHz, and GPU speed increase by 33%.

I have saved the text of the fix to a file on my computer so I can redo it easily if something screws it up again.

Many thanks.

I just wonder why ASUS or AMD didn't come up with this fix before, since it affects so much of computer operation.
