I'm looking to build my first PC and I keep trying to get the best components for the cheapest price. I've asked on here twice and my price keeps going a lot over $600. I really just want a PC that has the best price to performance for about the next 3-4 years or so. I'll be going to college in the fall and will have more money saved after to upgrade to a better machine. Ideally, I'd like to keep it in my price range but, if the parts are better for a little more, I can do that. I under stand that I am short changing myself now, but later down the road I'll be upgrading so I only want what I can afford/need right now to upgrade later. Id really only like a no BS answer, please describe why you chose these parts so that others can put their "two cents" in, and I can make the best informed decision. Thank you for your time and working with such a crazy build idea.

Approximate Purchase Date: Late Feb

Budget Range: $500-$600 S&H and tax INCLUDED

System Usage from Most to Least Important: (Right now) Watching movies, Surfing the web, gaming, 3d rendering
(Down the road) Gaming, Watching movies, Surfing the web, 3d rendering
*When I play games I could care less about the resolution, I do care about lag and loading time. I MIGHT play WoW again, other than that I will be playing Valve based games (Portal 1&2, TF2, Half-life series, LFD1&2) though Steam.
**For overall loading, could I get a decent prices/size SSD instead for the 1TD HD?** Maybe below?

Are you buying a monitor: Not included for price

Do you need to buy OS: Yes (I prefer Win7, but I have heard you can make Win8 work like Win7, are there any advantages from Win7 to Win8 besides the UI?)

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Any

Location: Buxton, Maine
No MicroCenter near by

Parts Preferences:
Case: Cooler Master HAF XB EVO
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-case-rc902xbkkn2
I really prefer this case and it will be great if I upgrade to a full motherboard. If there is a case that is very similar to this for a much cheaper price (I know there is but they all look weird or wont allow good airflow) please note. I know 80 is a large chunk for this build but Id like to try my hardest to keep it but it is not a huge Priority, just an awesome case.

Overclocking: Not unless it will affect the price, allowing me to get cheaper parts that can be OCed.

SLI or Crossfire: Not sure I would want to for price? Thoughts?

Additional Comments: I have a 1TB WD HD I could use for the OS Drive and a 3TD WD HD for storage. I also would like advice on the cooling. From what I've heard, Most stock processor heatsinks suck. I want to make sure the performance is not hindered by this, I can add some $$ for a better heatsink if it is needed.

Go with this guys build, it seems to be a solid build and i am genuinely surprised he could fit such a good gpu in there under budget. Be careful though, because prices change, and the amd fx-6300 is already back up to $120. The only thing i would change is the graphics card, save a little money and go with the radeon r9 270, which is almost as good, then use the money you saved to make up for the processor being more expensive now.

You are right bro,I build this PC for my cousin brother a while ago!

Agreed that within your budget, the build suggested by Arnav1 would work pretty good but personally, I would (this isn't going to help your budget though) change the motherboard to one featuring the 990 chipset for better overclocking potential. The 970 chipset just doesn't make for decent overclocks and IMO, that is a future-proofing consideration.
As far as your OS choice, Win 7 or Win 8.1, there really aren't too many legitimate reasons to stay with Win 7 currently (Win 8.1 doesn't make the Metro Interface mandatory which was the big problem with Win 8).

For the CPU&GPU Combo, Could I go with an APU and still get around the same performance for a cheaper price and if so, what would be a good APU?
