I have laptop having Windows 8 and PC having windows 7 I connected my laptop to wifi router and my PC connected to same router through LAN cable how do i share files in between those ?

by default most routers will isolate communication between the LAN side of the router and the Wireless side of the router.
You will want to go and admin your router and look for a security setting that does this. On my router it is called AP isolation
(access point Isolation) and I have to turn it off to let my laptop even see my desktop machine.

to access the router you can generally use your browser and enter in your gateway address where you enter in your web address
for my linksys router the default address is 192.168.1.1 when I enter that in my browser, i will be prompted for a username and password for my router. I enter that and I get the routers admin web page.

you can get the gateway address by running a command prompt
(windows key +x then a)
and type the command
ipconfig.exe

it should have the default gateway address (your router address) there
