soo i think something is bottlenecking my pc but i don't know what is causing it, help please.
i have..
Gpu:Msi Radeon 7850 power edition at 1050 core clock/ memory clock 1350 and core voltage 1200/memory voltage +30/ aux voltage +20.

Cpu Amd A8-3820 overclocked from 2.5ghz to 3.0ghz at stock voltage.
Memory: 8gb/ frequency something under 800mhz i can post a spec photo here with speccy if that helps. (=.

Psu/Power Supply:500w/ peak power 550w

Hard Drive: 2Tb

Motherboard: Pegatron something )=

Windows 8 pro 64 bit.
so please help me

There is always a limiting factor, sometimes called a bottleneck.

Presuming your app is gaming, it will be the cpu or the graphics card.
Which depends not only on your parts, but the resolution, eye candy, and perhaps even single player/multiplayer usage.
I might suspect cpu in your case.
Do apply some science to this, vs. opinion.

To help clarify your options, run these two tests:

a) Run your games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

b) Limit your cpu, either by reducing the OC, or, in windows power management, limit the maximum cpu% to something like...

This will simulate what a lack of cpu power will do.


Go to control panel/power options/change plan settings/change advanced power settings/processor power management/maximum processor state/
set to 50% and see how you do.


You could also experiment with removing one core in the bios. This will tell you how sensitive your games are to the benefits of many cores.

If your FPS drops significantly, it is an indicator that your cpu is the limiting factor, and a cpu upgrade is in order.

It is possible that both tests are positive, indicating that you have a well balanced system, and both cpu and gpu need to be upgraded to get better gaming FPS.

When i lowered my resolution and it slightly increase by like 2-3 frames.
Does that mean i am bottlenecked by my ram or cpu? Thx for fast respones. (=

No game will use more than 2-3gb. Ram is not the issue.

I think it is the cpu.
One buys the APU cpu chips because of the superior integrated graphics.
Once you start using a discrete graphics card that advantage disappears.

I do not know what cpu upgrades your motherboard permits.

No i was talking about the frequency might that be a problem, its only about 800mhz.
And I was thinking about maybe buying a amd fx 6300 and a cheap motherboard that could work with that cpu. Is that a good idea? And would my psu handle that?

My guess would be it's a combination of the APU (not that great with gaming) and pairing it with 1600 sticks, APUs like fast DRAM and while primarily for the onboard GPU the central processor also likes the faster DRAM...one thing you might check is that since you have the 7850, see about disabling the on-board GPU in the APU

Do you know how i can disable it! And yeah i live in iceland soo my grandfather and grandmother are going to america in mars and then they will buy that for me. :)

it does not come up it only says radeon 7800 series and logmein mirror device and bb capture driver.
Would i be able to run bf3/4 on my computer?

That's a dangerous advice to give to someone, as his desktop view could be reliant on the integrated card.
Disabling it could make the screen go pitch black, and re-enabling it would be a hassle.

You might think that the op has his monitor connected to the dedicated gpu=hd 7850,disabling the igp should have no effect on that and for the argument, for re-enabling the igp could he do a clear cmos if necessary.
