Disable one of my graphics cards entirely

Somewhat of an unorthodox question here - I have two graphics cards and I don't want to use both of them all the time. When I don't want to utilize the second one, is there any way to shut it off entirely using Windows 7 or some utility? The fan is somewhat noisy and I don't want the card on when I don't need it. Is this possible? Thanks in advance.

[strike]You can only do so from the BIOS, do you still want to disable it? I can explain if you do.[/strike]

You can use device manager, in your windows 7 control panel, and select your graphics card you wish to disable there, expand Display Adapters, right-click on the card you don't want on and Disable.

You can disable it from the Nvidia control panel if you have Nvidia, but that would only disable it as not being used in SLI and you probably don't have Nvidia if your card is noisy anyways. You can disable it from the BIOS but you would have to restart every time. You may want to just take the side off your PC and unplug the 6 pin.

I actually tried that, and I don't believe that actually shuts down the card - it just disables its usage in Windows. It would actually be worth it for me to do it in BIOS. Restarting is quick enough.

My primary card is nvidia and is quiet. The noisy card is not. I don't want to take the power cord out of the card each time - that's why I asked this question. But doing it from BIOS would be alright
