Alright so currently I have 16Gb of Trident 1866 RAM (full specs in my signature), but I'm wondering if I should add my old 2x4 1600 sticks (well not that old, 1 year). Is it worth having 24Gb at 1600 over 16Gb at 1866? I know the difference between 1600 and 1866 is not big in reality, so I'll probably do it, but what do you guys think, if do a lot of video editing and 3D stuff?

Thanks!

Speed wise, yeah I don't think there's much of a difference between the two.

If you ever use more than 16 gigs, having the extra 8 will make a huge difference, but then again if you don't it won't matter at all.

Personally I'd stick in all 24, then run memtest86+ plus overnight. If you get any errors, pull out the 1600 and try again, then if it comes back clean leave the 1600 out.
