My USB 3.0 ports weren't working this morning with my AAHD3-HB. To fix this I ran a BIOS update from HP's site. The model number of my PC is p7-1174. After it was done, the update said I had to press yes to restart my PC. I did and when it came back, the screen was black. After giving it a few, I held the power button. It is still black on start up, no motherboard screen or even recognition that a PC is plugged in to the monitor.

Things I've tried:
-taking battery out for 5 minutes, it starts and flashes the motherboard page that has press f8 to enter setup. Then it says keyboard error and press f1 to boot (how's that possible if the keyboard doesn't work). This also only works the first time I start it up after taking out the battery, then it's black screen again.
-starting with 1 stick of ram, tried in each slot, black screen.
-resetting CMOS according to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02967715&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en gives black screen

Please help, my new PC is currently broken as well so this is my only way of playing games with friends.

well if you have tried all your ports and not one works then I guess its a loss. there is one recovery method I saw but it is technically advance and requires a flash programmer. be easier to get a new...

Bump. Apparently the update for this mobo from HP has these problems all the time, I can't see anything on the screen and all ports on the computer are dead, so I think that's about it. There is absolutely no way I can flash it. Case closed, f*ck HP.

are there any bios recovery options. I know for my hp laptop all I have to do is put a fat32 formatted usb drive in it with the bios file you want to flash named a specific thing and it will flash the bios automatically even with nothing on the screen. (had a custom bios go bad on me)

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c02693833 This says you can, but the problem is my USB ports are dead without a working BIOS. Keyboard doesn't work, mouse lights don't come on, and flash drives don't light up.
