Installed new Motherboard and Processor on old Windows7 HD, can't detect Network Controller

I just bought an MSI 970A-G46 and an AMD FX-6350, and replaced my old Motherboard and processor with them, using the same hard drive as I did before. My hard drive has Windows 7 on it, I've installed the drivers, and everything is fine except for a few things:

I cannot connect to the internet, I have tried installing the network drivers on the disc that came with my Motherboard, but when it finishes installing, it gives me the message: "The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable."

When I take a look at the back of my computer, where the Ethernet cable is plugged in, there are no lights flickering when there should be. I assumed at first maybe the Ethernet adapter was busted, but when I tried loading another operating system that came with the motherboard (called "Winki") and booted from that, it could connect to the internet just fine.

I have a feeling it's something to do with Windows. Not only can I not connect to the internet, but when I go into the Device Manager, the list is blank. Perhaps I am missing some sort of driver for Windows 7 to recognize devices connected to the motherboard? I have no idea if that is actually the problem, nor do I know where to find such a driver.

This is what I would do. On another computer connect to the MSI site and download the newest ethernet drivers for your motherboard. Also grab the chipset and anything else that looks relevant. Save them to a flash drive and install the drivers on your system. Install the network drivers frist.

Once you have network drivers installed you should be able to connect to the internet. Also make sure that your ethernet cable is plugged into a switch or wireless router. It is possible that that is not connected to anything.

I used the same installation before upgrade. I'm thinking that's the reason this is happening, but I don't know what else to do other than backup all of my personal files onto an external hard drive and do a clean install, which I would prefer not doing. But if absolutely necessary, I guess that's what I'll have to do.

Most likely this is your problem. Back up your profile and personal files. Also make sure you have keys and media to re-install all old applications.

Your motherboard's disk should work for drivers.
