Hello everyone, I build my current system about 15 years ago and now it's time to do an upgrade, The components I'm going to replace are:
-CPU - Intel Core i5 LGA 1150
- Heatsink - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
- Mobo - ASRock Fatal1ty H87 Performance
- GPU - MSI N650-MD1GD5/OC GeForce GTX 650
- OS - Windows 8.1 64-bit Standard
-Ram - CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3
- Hard Drive - Western Digital WD AV-GP WD10EURX 1TB

can someone tell me if these components are compatible? I pick the H87 chipset because I'm not intending to use the computer for gaming, nor overclock, and the most power demanding softwares that I use are adobe Premiere (Video editing) and Autocad. Any advice or critics on the components that I chose are welcome. I'am about $100 over my initial budget.
Finally do I need to upgrade my DVD Rom burner as well? (Not interested in Blue Ray)
Thank you for your inputs

yes it is compatible, just make sure u don'y get the K series processor or u will be wasting money. I notice u go overboard with the memory using vengeance pro series, the standard one will do nicely for ur needs, but if u want it to last then at least one with sufficient heat spreader exist rather than the pro series (their vengeance series, w/o pro, also got heat spreader). Oh, for ur video editing and modelling needs, might as well find GPU w/ 2GB memory at the least.

Since you use your system for lots and lots of years, I'd invest a bit on the system. Video editing a normally demanding. What cpu do you want to get? I'd go or 4670, mobo asrock extreme 6, gskill ripjaw 1600mhz (2x8gb), get yourself a 128gb ssd to boot your system and make your video editing program work faster. I'd get a beter gpu as well, the gtx 660.

I currently running my PC on XP with a GPU without any ram and 2 GB of memory and is a pita runinng this programs.
ferooxidan: Thank you for the advice; I'll save on the memory downgrading the pro for the standard version and put that money in a better GPU with two GB of ram.
HumdrumPenguin: Tha's a good idea, I also using a 30GB WD for run XP and a 2nd 60 GB HD for data. I'll include the SDD as well. Thank you
