I have followed each troubleshooting step in the thread. Each of these components are brand new, as I am starting a new build.

In short, I’m not sure if it’s the RAM, the Motherboard, or the CPU that’s causing the issue. No beep, no POST, and no method of connecting to a display, with either Gigabyte’s onboard graphics and a VGA cable with the GPU excluded from the case, or with a HDMI cable and my GPU installed. Motherboard LED (if there is one) does not light up.

Outside of trying one stick of RAM instead of two, and switching the RAM of this new build into my current build I use to determine its workability, is it safe to say the problem lies with the CPU or Motherboard if it turns out there is no issue with the RAM?

P.S, I must admit I didn't work in a completely static-free environment without an anti-static wrist strap, could this have permanently caused damage to the motherboard upon starting the build?

motherboard, cpu, ram on a wooden breadboard

connect the psu, both cables

and a monitor

Try and start it by shorting the pins that connect to the power switch of the case just for a moment with the tip of a screw driver .

What happens?

Problem solved! It was the RAM all along, alongside a poorly seated CPU. For all future builders, keep this in mind: the mobo will sometimes not ACCEPT 2 sticks of 4gb RAM, so:
1. Try with 1 RAM stick.
2. Try with RAM sticks from your OWN current build and switch these around to determine if the RAM is indeed the issue.
3. Re-seat the CPU.
- the Mobo beeped for the first time with the speaker! And what a feel! Connected via HDMI on GPU on the FIRST bootup - no onboard graphics VGA connection needed!
