Cooling help in BitFenix Prodigy

Hello all, I have a Bitfenix Prodigy build with an MSI GTX 760 OC Twin Frozr and my temperatures are getting very high. I have the white one, which, unlike the black means that the front is not mesh and doesn't provide for the best airflow. To top it off, I replaced the stock side panel with a window which further suffocates my GPU. I am running stock exhaust fan (Spectre 1000RPM 120mm) and added a top 120mm exhaust of that same fan. Furthermore, I replaced the intake 120mm spectre with a Corsair AF140L that I swapped from my Obsidian 750D case.

However, even with the extra fan and larger intake, my GPU gets to 82C in Kombustor and in game, although it takes longer in game to reach those temps even with fans at 100%.

So my question is, what can I do to improve airflow, other than getting a 200mm fan for intake? I hypothesize it is because my GPU's blades are facing the window which means the air flow is very poor.

I've heard a few people say that swapping to the windowed side destroys their GPU temps as there is so little space and airflow in that section.

Fans in the roof are pretty unlikely to help you (any heat buildup escapes through the vent anyway) and while a wider front fan (200/230, same size really) should spread some air wide I'm not sure it's going to make an awful lot of difference.

I think it's really a combination of factors; the type of graphics card cooler, the solid side panel, and the limited space (the window panel moves the side of the case even closer to the GPU).

What I would do, purely for experimentation purposes, is swap the vented side panel back on and see how much of a difference it makes. If it solves the problem entirely then you basically have to keep it, or drill some suitable holes in your windowed panel.

Yes I guess you're right... The Twin Frozr, unlike the reference cooler suck air from the "front" face of the card, unlike the blower design of the ref cooler. I don't have quarrels about drilling holes in the side panel since I really like the window... I'll try it out.

Aye well that's why it's a good idea to check with your vented panel to see how much of a difference it makes. I'd assume it'll make a significant difference, but if it doesn't then there isn't much point attacking the window panel.

It's possible that due to the very small area and an axial fan cooler, you are just getting a recirculation issue, which is pretty common in SLI type setups with stacked cards.

I purchased a black and grey trimmed front panel that is made of mesh, and bought a 200mm bitfenix spectre Pro. Now the temperatures are ALOT better and I get to keep the window! So great success so far!

Out of curiosity, what sort of a difference are you getting? There's a lot of questions like this and it'd be good to have a reference point. In my own case, turning on+off the front fan does absolutely nothing to my graphics card temps, but I have the vented side panel so it's not really a problem.
