I just replaced the motherboard, processor, and memory in my old gaming pc, and I bought a new samsung ssd for it, i'm having some problems.
When i start up the system with 2 sticks of the same 4gb ram in the system, in the correct slots for dual channel, instead of showing 8gb ram it shows as having 4gb installed. To figure out why this was happening I tried 4 different sticks of all the same exact type of ram and this is always the case, I'm fairly sure there is nothing wrong with any the ram sticks itself. I also tried installing multiple different sticks, one at a time, of 4gb ram in the last slot for ram, which is one of the 2 slots i was using to put in 8gb in dual channel, and for some reason that slot for the memory sticks shows the 4gb of ram as being 2gb when i start the system - the other slot shows the ram correctly as 4gb, So i am confused as to if there is something physically wrong with that memory slot that it always shows 4gb ram sticks as being 2gb, or if there is something wrong with the bios that somehow is making that happen.
