Hello! I found a website selling Windows 8 Pro for $33. I bought 2 copies and they both seem to be working well, but I am wondering if you guys think they are legit. The website was http://windows8sales.com/ Thanks!

anyone can download the copy of window8 direct from microsoft.
the key generators work pretty good also, or someone can sell the key 1000 times
before it is deactivated by microsoft. Make sure you did not give them a credit card.

It came with the download from Microsoft and a download of the ISO. Like I said, it works and activated fine, I just don't know if the keys were legit.

You will know in about 3 months.
Some people sell codes that are generated by the algorithm microsoft uses to create them, and it takes a few weeks for windows updates to notice the code hasnt been sold yet,or is in use.
When they notice, your pc will become useless.

Oh. I have only had them for like a month. If I use Microsoft web support, can they tell me if the key is legit?

They could also be student codes. If you install another, pretend you are on another continent. This will fail the install for a student C.O.A.
The major difference with a student C.O.A. is microsoft can take your firstborn if you use it from a business.
Not worth the worry.

Never stick your head in the mouth of a lion.
Even dodgy codes can get lucky; It might be a code in an install pack that slips into the spare wheel well of an honest trader, never to be found .
Nobody on this site agrees with piracy, but you bought in good faith so dont ask for trouble. Unless you can get yr money back of course, in which case go for it.

I wouldnt risk buying another. A primary fail for a student C.O.A.
is the wrong video zone. It depends on which learning establishment it was issued at, amongst other things. MS brought this in with windows validation. People, myself included, where taking the Michael.

I see what you are saying. However, a bargain might not always remain so. It is customary to sell a few good ones then shaft the followers. This is similar to 'Bait and Switch', but just screws the late comers.

I dont like that people do that. Microsoft said they were legit keys, but he could always sell me a fake eventually.

M/S havent said they are legit keys, they just havent said they are duff yet. It is quite possible they ARE lgit however, as W8 keys are good for life. I forgot about that; so every broken box u see at the dump is a source for a W8 C.O.A. I think m/s blew a foot off with that one..
Your keys could be legit indeed.
It wont work with 7 however.
