My friend Dan's 5 year old PC finally decided to go out of business after the power supply failed and the RAM sticks broke. So here's a new build list that I picked for him on PCPartPicker: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/dromni/saved/3Dbw

His budget is $400. I didn't include case, HDDs, optical drive, monitor or WiFi adapter as he already has those from his previous desktop. The only games he play are pretty much just CS 1.6 (...) and Minecraft. He mainly uses the computer for web browsing and sometimes watching Blu-ray movies (he has a blu-ray drive that is surprisingly still functional). However I'm still kinda worried since it is going to be the first time for me to actually build a PC from scratch. If anyone can tell me whether the parts I picked would be worth the money and compatible with each other, that'd be great. Thanks!

4Gb of RAM should be enough for some basic internet, but 8Gb wouldn't be a bad idea, it wouldn't add much to the current cost anyway. Otherwise, for the budget, that seems sound. If he's willing to go a little higher, you could maybe do a better MB, but it's not that big of a deal if not.
