Was looking to upgrade my PC to play some MMO's (DayZ Standalone for anyone who is familiar).

I bought the computer not knowing much about them and was just looking for an intro into gaming. Since then I have been getting more into PC gaming and would like to know some information about upgrading them.

I've been told my CPU is fine for now but my graphics card is on the low end. Would you guys be able to tell me if I would have any issues with upgrading to a more recent graphics card and possibly give me some good options? Here is the site I've been looking at for some graphics cards. http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_list.php

Can you open the case and read the exact brand/model of the PSU?

Also, do you have a budget?

Buy a new one. That's something of a fire hazard, and can't do rated wattage.

How much are you willing to spend on the upgrade?

I mean how much would a new/decent PSU be? I only payed $550 for the computer itself and so far the only somewhat decent thing on it was the CPU. Would it be worth upgrading everything or just buying a new one?

Well, the motherboard, RAM, case, HDD, and ODD should be fine.

A new PSU should set you back about $60, minus a $10 MIR: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1550sxxb...

Then add a nice GPU, e.g. an R9 270 or 270X.

So the PSU is relatively cheap and the graphics cards are in the right price range for me as well. May I ask why AMD and not NVIDIA? I know it seems to normally come down to personal preference but just so I know for my own knowledge.

nVidia generally isn't as price-competitive in the lower end of the market, though with the current LiteCoin mess they're getting better.

Other card to look for would be a GTX 760.
