My current set up, 500w antec basiq 80+ .
Core i5 760. 8gb ddr3 1300mhz, cheep-ass motherboard with dual channel ram and lga1156 socket. Cheep case with cheep cooling ,R7750(will be swapped with a xfx r9 270x). My power supply have 2x 6pin pcie.

Will this set up work ? I won't be overclocking much.

Can't go crossfire since my cheep motherboard only have 1 pcie 16x slot.

A Radeon R9-270X needs at least 24A on the 12v rail and a 500w power supply.

Your current power supply has 2 - 18 amp 12v rails and 2 - 6 pins and is sufficient to run that card.

Note: I would refrain from overclock though.
