Howdy, I just started a Cert IV Networking course at TAFE with a large CISCO networking component. Our first day (today) was spent working on subnetting and borrowing bits. We had a few questions such as:

PC1 has the IP 192.168.1.120
PC2 has the IP 192.168.1.129

Both are using the subnet 255.255.255.240

Which subnets are the two computers on?

or

On the network 203.25.8.0, we need to create ATLEAST 13 subnets. What would the subnet used be and how many hosts would be able to connect on each subnet?

I'm wondering if anyone has a link to any website that has flash-cards of a similar type so that I can get some practice in. I understand the concept, but I'm 27 and it's been ages since I've done much maths (and I'm just coming out of holidays mode) so my brain is super slow at all of this.

I have an exam next week that will require doing a lot of this and I want to spend the next day or two doing cram for it so I can speed my brain up somewhat. The only alternative is bringing lots of coffee a long with me to class :p

http://www.subnettingquestions.com/

it has questions of all the usual flavours.

:)

If you would like a good refresher video look for the cbt nuggets ICND1 video series. They are not free but can easily be found :)

Cheers Urumiko. Exactly what I was looking for. Kind of odd that something so... obviously named didn't show up in my google search (or maybe I missed it, I was tired yesterday).

Time for some drills. Aww yeah.
