Black loading screen after closing full screen games

I have recently completed my first build without any problems, but whenever I close or try to minimize a full screen game, like Skyrim or Star Wars the old republic, the screen is stuck on that black loading screen. I can hear the game music, but only for a minute or so, and if I have Pandora on in the background, that only finishes the song it's on. I searched Google and such, but there's no mention of a black loading screen in this situation, and this is not when Windows is booting up. Do you think this is a hardware issue, a graphics card issue, or did I plug something in wrong? This is the only problem, everything else runs fine and there's no overheating.

Running Windows 8.1 Enterprise Evaluation, the free trial.
AMD FX-8320
AMD Radeon R7 200x
Asus M5 A97 R2.0
8GB ram, 750w psu, and 1TB HDD

Nah i don't think it's a hardware issue. For skyrim the black screen issue is there afaik. Usually Alt+Tab-ing the game 2 times will fix it. It could also be due to Windows 8. I have seen several players complain about the same thing:

Try to set compatibility mode to windows 7 for games that are exhibiting this behaviour or disable aero theme etc. Maybe that will help. Try to experiment a little.

And to iron out your newly built hardware stability. You need to perform 3 tests:
1) Memtest 86+, for checking RAM
2) Prime 95, Processor stress test and complete system stability. Overclockers usually stress and check the stability using this software.
3) 3D Mark or any other grpahics intensive benchmark to stress test your GPU.
^If they run without a hitch then you know that it's most likely a driver\windows\game issue only.
