Why is my FPS dropping (LoL)

Hi guys, just a quick question regarding my fps drop in league of legends. My settings are on minimum but I still drop in fps a lot when a lot happens on screen

here is my build:

GPU: GeForce GTX 650Ti
CPU: AMD 8320 8 core 3.5ghz
MoBo: A960d+
RAM: 8GB

According to my windows performance score my components are rated as such:
Processor 7.7
RAM 7.7
Graphics 7.4
Gaming graphics (3d) 7.4
Primary Hard Disk 5.9

I thought these ratings were okay, so why do i lag? any suggestions? do i perhaps need to upgrade some parts? also im running windows 8u.1 if that makes a difference. Thanks!

Drop how much? Whats the minimum FPS you see? Try turning off AA

You shouldn't be lagging or dropping in fps with a 650Ti
I could just be latency on your end.

My ping is never above 50. My d/l speed is between 50-80mbps, upload speed is roughly 10mbps

Anti aliasing, its in the video options. Try turning it off, if its on.

I was planning on perhaps a new mobo and gpu. spend around £250 on both

Your hardware is more than enough, League is a very low end game.

Try installing the latest Geforce drivers.

latest drivers are installed. Perhaps when I'm home ill check everything you've mentioned

Might be worth dropping back to a previous driver then, or reinstalling the drivers

Is this the only game you get poor performance on?

Download MSI afterburner and see what your GPU usage is when playing LoL.

Looks like there are many people having low fps when running LoL from Windows 8.1. You could try putting LoL in windows 7 compatibility mode.

I'll try win 7 compatibility mode. Windows 8 is a disaster according to what I've read online.
