So i got these
Kingston
8GB DDR3 1600MHz (2x4) HyperX
on a Asrock b85m mainboard.

Now if I have them both in, windows will rarely boot. Or if it does, it crash on games and get stuck in bootloop until its cooled down. Now this is easily fixed with a gigantic noisy fan i can mount in the drivebays exhausting hot air out from the memory slots.

Now the thing is with just one of these in my slots, i dont need this fan and everything is stable and fine. Once i get 2 in, it just gets to hot?

I tried with or without xmp profiles with no luck, now I see that the memory are in 1T (CR) command rate. Dunno if changing that to 2t makes em less hot or more stable? Was hard figuring out how to do it in the asrock uefi bios tho.

And I ran memtest86+ newest version for 20 hours with both modules in and there is 0 errors.

(also im using windows 8.1) wonder if that is the problem right there..

its 1.65v, its the xmp settings. I tried 1.5v auto settings too, same thing happens. Yeah might try windows 7, got a retail version laying around. Im just hoping thers some magical bios settings that will fix it all. As these command rate things i read on different forums that 1t stresses the ram alot more then 2t specially when all slots are filled. And I only got 2 slots so they are filled.

System runs flawless as is now with this fan, but the noise is not fun.

it should be 1.5v but if 1.65 does the same then there could be a more serious problem here. For the meantime leave it at 1.5v, what hyper x ram cooler is on your ram?, ram doesn't normally get excessively hot so what programs are you using if you do. the ram must be running over 90% on startup to get that kind of heat.

http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KHX1600C9D3B1K2_8GX.pdf These are my exact ram. Only got them kingston blu heatspreaders on them as far as I can see. There is the issue of my graphics card being very very close its actually on top of the lower side ram connector pins the ones u flip down to remove the ram. So i had this theory of my gpu is producing heat in that area aswell. Since the top side of the gtx 580 is crazy hot.

Its games basically that makes the ram crash, but sometimes it wont even boot into windows without my custom fan.
But if I only use one ram stick there is no issues.

dunno how to check that, all the temps i can monitor is low, hdds, mainboard is in 30ish cpu at 45 max load. Gpu is around 77 80 at full load tho, 50 idle. But without my custom fan running, it will crash long before it reaches that. At around 73 74 gpu temp it just dies.

Also without my fan, if I can boot windows and stuff and it seems ok running a while just browsing. It will eventually just turn itself off aswell then.

Was thinking of buying a kingston hyperx fan ram cooler. But im not sure it will fit since my gpu is as i wrote blocking the lower ram connectors and I think the cooler is kinda fitted around those..
