I currently have 3 monitors setup with NVidia surround on a single gtx 670. the fps aren't very good so I am going to be throwing in another card. My question is, my wife me to hook up a 4th monitor so she can watch shows at her art desk with out having to turn her head to the computer to watch them. Can I run a 4th monitor like that while the other three are in surround. I tried googling it and got some mixed answers so I thought I would ask here. Thanks,

Should be fine, but you'd need to have enough outputs on the card. Or use integrated graphics; video doesn't require much processing power.

Awsome, the cards have 4 display ports on each card so I will have 8 total, I just didn't know if the cards being in sli would be able to run a 4th monitor as a single display while the other three or in surround

You usually can't use the second card's ports in SLI (I'm not sure on this, but I think it's true). However, if you can connect them up, 3+1 should be fine.

EDIT: You would need a displayport screen, though.
