Solution

First you need to specify what "nice fps" is and in what game.
For running older games at lower settings, you can get OK speeds, say the original Half-Life or something similar. Warcraft will run OK (Not online, the original Warcraft).

If you are looking to play any newer games you need to upgrade to at least a dual-core system in the 2.6gig + range and with a $60 or so video card like a Radeon...

This is a very low-end computer. I you won't really get any good fps even at low settings. This is the kind of time you need to give up on your old computer and start building a new one with some decent hardware components.

bro, ur procie, ram, mobo and gpu is very outdated. ur system in all is outdated. but it will still give u a nice fps.......in Tetris, yes.

joke aside, if u want to upgrade tell us ur needs and budget, the resident of this forum are very good when giving advice to build a new rig.

R7 240 or something from this new article about lower end gaming http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-r7-240-and-250,3717.html

You're looking at about $200 to get a used system that can run many games on at least lower settings.

The semi-good news for you is that the NVS 290 is at least a little bit in demand (unless you have the AGP version) still and you can sell it for a bit of money to put towards a new system. Your system may go for $80-100 and for a bit more you can get a faster one.
