Is my PSU the problem?

Hey there,

I'm currently running through a spell of bother with my PC.

Around a year ago, my PSU effectively blew up on me rendering my PC useless. Being a student, I'm not particularly rich, and purchased a Novatech 750w PSU (No namer i know) :(

However, ever since, when playing games such as battlefield 4, BLOPS2, my pc randomly freezes up and just begins to reboot.

However, when placing on the windowsill it takes longer for the PC to crash which makes me think that it is heat related, however, even when stress testing both the CPU and GPU the temperatures exceed that of when im gaming, so im completely confused.

Here is my system specs:
BIOS: BIOS Date: 05/18/11 10:38:43 Ver: 24.01
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
GPU Card name: AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series
PSU: Novatech 750w PSU

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thankyou

That does sound like the PSU.

A decent ~500W PSU should be fine for you.

Thanks for the quick responses, Any modular PSU's that you could recommend?

Modular isn't really essential. In essence i just want a PSU that won't bust my bank but will be able to provide enough power for gaming.
