Hi

I need a motherboard for a good price or 100- 250 dollars Australian, id like it to be able to fit four r9 280xs and sound card too

There's no way to fit four dual-slot GPUs and a sound card on one board, sorry.

Plus, four GPUs gives terrible scaling, unless you're mining. In which case, you won't be able to hear the difference over the screaming fans.

Several years ago, Foxconn made a prototype "Ultra ATX" 10-slot motherboard that would fit four dual-slot video cards and looks like it would have 2 x1 slots to spare, but afaik it never went retail:

Edit: if you use some pci-express extension cables, such as this item: http://www.moddiy.com/products/PCI%252dExpress-PCI%252dE-Extension-Cable-Riser-%2819cm%29.html?gclid=CNGIl-yLsLwCFZBj7Aod43MA3Q&setCurrencyId=7 you might be able to connect 4 dual-slot video cards and still be able to connect a sound card. However, I'm pretty sure that wouldn't work with a standard atx case, you'd probably have to custom-build something like it looks like somebody did for the 4-6 card examples on that page. Also, like the previous poster mentioned, the noise of the fans would drown out any benefits of having a sound card instead of using onboard sound.
