I built a gaming pc about 18 months ago and I feel it's time for an upgrade. I'm looking to upgrade both my GPU and CPU. Ideally I'd like to able to play all games on max settings at 60+ FPS for next few years.

Since I've got some money to burn at the moment I was looking at getting a 780 Ti but I don't know if that might be a bit overkill. I'm also looking for some advice as to what CPU I should get in order to best compliment a 780 Ti.

Unfortunately I don't know a whole lot about computer components, and I was also therefore wondering if there was anything else I would need to upgrade from my current rig in order to avoid a bottleneck with the new components.

Here's my current build:

Case: Sharktoon T9 Gaming Case
CPU: Intel i5 2550k (4 x 3.4 GHZ) - Sandy Bridge
Memory: Corsair 8GB XMS3 PC3-12800 1600 MHz (2x4GB)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 - 1280MB
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3V (Intel B75)
Power: Cooler Master GX Lite 600W
HD: 1TB SATA-II HDD 7200 RPM 32MB

Any advice is much appreciated.

seeing as your mobo has a older chipset I wouldn't even look at upgradng the cpu. get whatever gpu you can afford/desire now then go about upgrading your mobo/cpu

idk what your budget is but for price/performance the 770 takes the cake

I guess ideally I would be looking to maybe spend around 700 to 800 pounds, excluding VAT since I can get that off, on both a GPU and CPU. But if it meant spending a bit more to get me something that would last a while I'd be prepared to do that.

like I said you need to upgrade you chipset for a better processor or else it'd just be pointless. that is pretty much asus 3rd highest end motherboard behind the sabertooth/maximus oc formula

and honestly you have no room to overclock your processor with the 770/600w psu. so i'd look into getting a none 'k' version of the i5 (k just means its unlocked for overclocking) or unless you plan on upgrading your psu later on down the line get the 4670k.
