Did you try connecting it to other sata ports and see if it may work?

If your running on the laptop go to bios and find "Sata Nature" set it to false and then see if it finds the sata driver.

If you have an older pc 2010 or earlier then you may have an "AF" hard drive you are trying to install and it may not be compatible. Need a non-AF hard drive. "AF" stands for advanced format. There would be a "AF" logo on the hard drive itself. Need 512 byte sector hard drive. This was the problem when I tried to upgrade my hard drive on my HP computer model name: HPE-240f

Wasted my whole day figuring this out
