I have been thinking about building a computer for the first time. I got some great suggestions from a member but am thinking of using the above components.

I will mainly use it to do photo editing but may play some games too - orignially I was not thinking of playing games. Will these be a suitable match?

Thanks

Solution
You don't need such a pricey mobo. Get a GA-Z87X, Asus Z87-A, or ASRock Z87 Extreme4. If you're not going to OC, just get a cheap H87 board and drop the cooler. If you are, get a K series CPU.

Don't bother spending that much on a PSU; get a good 450W+ one from the list in my sig.

Also, you shouldn't need the extra case fans.

You might want a better GPU; I'd be looking at a 760.
It's ok, but if you are using a 4770 NON K version, you don't need a Z87 motherboard. Get anything that is LGA 1150, but not with a Z87 chipset. You also won't need an aftermarket cpu cooler, because you won't be overclocking with a non K CPU. What is your budget for the build, and do you need an OS and a monitor?

Ok thanks guys. I liked the mobo as it had all connections ie usb 3 the wifi and blue tooth is there any other mobo I should go for that would have those things or am I just being too ambitious?

Thanks. I will use windows 7 ultimate or am open to suggedtions not sure about winows 8 yet!

Why do I not need a z787?

Z87 motherboards are designed for overclocking. If you don't plan on OC'ing, all you need is an H87 board. Generally, H87 boards are much cheaper than Z87 boards. And as for Windows 7 Ult, it isn't really necessary. Just get a 64bit version of Home Premium or windows 8 or 8.1.

Thanks. Why would I not need the cooler and is the gpu size better for photo editing or what reason? I asl as am new to all this and never built a computer before but want to learn.

Ok thank you.

I see that you figured out with the cooler, the GTX760 is a better card so if you will play games then you will not regret it but for photo editing the GTX660 will do just as well.

Thanks guys for all your help all were best solutions but I had to choose one! I understand 7a lot more now.

The one thing I forgot to mention was that the system must be silent or near as possible. WIll I be best to have a cpu cooler for this?
