I will be soon building a Computer mainly for Heavy Matlab Computing, Daily tasks, CAD and Light Gaming.
Till now I have decided these specs :
FX 8350 + 8GB DDR3 RAM + Asus M5A78L-M-LX V2 Motherboard + 1TB Seagate Internal HDD + 450Watt Corsair VS450 + Antec VSK4000 Cabinet.
Well, There isn't any fixed budget but I do likely to go for around $600. Less is always good.
Well, I am actually stuck about what Graphics to get ? NVIDIA or AMD ? QUADRO or Geforce GTX ?
And What about the other System parts ?

CPU - The FX 8320 is much cheaper and can be easily clocked to 4.0GHz to match the 8350. The Hyper 212 EVO will keep temps in check...

MEM - DDR3-1600 1.5v CL8 (low latency)

GPU - ...from the Matlab web site. "To speed up computation, Parallel Computing Toolbox leverages NVIDIA GPUs that support CUDA 1.3 or later." If you can add to your budget, this is where you put it...

SSD - Matlab will greatly benefit form an SSD as it can be disk intensive.

CASE - Don't overlook front USB 3.0

PSU - Changed to a Seasonic Gold rated unit.

1. Well, I do not OC.
2. I am from India.
3. Prices are higher here.
4. That's why looking for cheap motherboard. Asus M5A78LMLX V2 is a Problem ?? I won't be OC, No SLI, No Xfire etc. etc..
5. Instead of that SSD, I can get ADATA Preimer Pro SP900 SSD for Cheap.
6. I already have 160GB of HDD so I think there's no need of extra drive ???
