my motherboard is gigabyte 945GCMX- S2 rev6.6. i think the version is 1.1 but i need to be sure of its pcie version cos i'm thinking of buying a gpu(asus hd 6670).
problem is that i have heard amd's 2.1 stablitiy issues with 1.1 mobo's.

Your MB has the Intel® 945GC Express Chipset so that the pcie is the 1.1 version. http://ark.intel.com/products/34505/Intel-82945GC-Graphics-and-Memory-Controller

Yes, as I know the MB with the pcie 1.1 version that will have compatible problem but if the MB has the BIOS update then they will be fine, I means the BIOS will be at least at or after 2009. I check the gigabyte website the MB has the beta BIOS came out 10/06/2009, so it will probably work fine. But you are better to try one from your friend or buy the NVIDIA GPU.
