gtx titan vs radeon hd 7990 vs gtx 780ti

If i want to have a gpu for extreme gaming, watching films, browsing internet,etc should i get the gtx titan, radeon hd 7990 or the gtx 780ti or just wait for the gtx 790 to come out.

I would go with the 780 ti. It is slightly better at gaming than the titan and it is WAY cheaper. If you want to wait for the 790 that is up to you, but it is still questionable when that is going to be released IF it gets released.

The gtx 780ti is the fastest single gpu on the planet. So yes it is faster than the 7990. And with the 780ti you would get lower temps and you will get less stutter and such while gaming. So definatly go for the 780ti

The thing is with most AMD cards is that they have a problem with frame drops. I have had this experience and am getting the 760 in July. (by that time it will be abour $200) With Nvidia cards you don't see that at all. Plus, the drivers for Nvidia are WAY better than
AMD. Also, if you ever want to record your games and put them on the internet, you can get Nvidia Shadowplay (I think that's what it's called) for free! It is also cheaper than the 7990 so that is why I picked it.

All of those things you just mentioned are just some specs that will only change about one or two fps. And you don't need the memory unless you will go 4k or trippel monitor setup.

because those things are used by the companies to lure people in to buy their products. It's not that they DON'T affect performance it's that they don't affect it that much. Plus with the 7990 you WILL see frame drops in everygame.

You should never compare graphics cards with only specs. you have to look at benchmarks and such. As an example: if you look at the r7 260x from amd which is a low end graphics card it comes with 1075ghz core speed and the 780ti comes with 876ghz core speed.

GTX780ti will be better.
The main reason is that it is a single gpu solution.
That bypasses the dual gpu issues of lagging and tearing.
Those are two issues that are obscured if you depend on simple FPS statistics.
The 7990 is also a dual gpu implementation which has the same issues.

If you buy a superclocked version, your fps performance will be about the same as a GTX690 at a lesser price.
It will also run cooler, quieter, and take less power.
For gaming on a single monitor, you just can't do any better.

but if a gpu has double the amount of bandwidth double the amount of memory and double the amount of practically everything else, does that really not matter.

But the engineers balance/select those characteristics to achieve their price/performance objective.
AMD and Nvidia have different architectures so the selection components are balanced differently.
You can't compare them by their parts.

The end result is what counts, not the means to get there.

one final thing. if i am using a 2560x1440 monitor will the gtx 780ti definitely be better in that.

Even if the 780 ti costed more than the 7990 i would still pick the 780ti.

Not much else matters.

I have been using a GTX780 superclock on a 2560 x 1600 monitor with no issues.
A GTX780ti would be even better, particularly on 2560 x 1440.
It will do the job.

A GTX780ti needs a decent 620w psu with a 6 and 8 pin power connector.

As to price, what is your budget.

forget about HD 7990i have this card and not all games support CF only BF4 and metro last light i get good fps
get single gpu better than crossfire gtx 780ti much better than this card

I have the 7990 also, it stuttered in Windows 7 a lot, but Windows 8.1 it is butter smooth. It puts out way more fps than the 780 Ti especially when overclock, unless you're playing an older game that doesn't support CF. Also, the guy above mentions that the 780 TI is close to the GTX 690, but the 7990 is slightly faster than the 690. If you have your system setup right, the 7990 will be faster, but if you have Windows 7 then the 780 TI will definitely be better.
