The sims 2 won't load

I've tried it on two different laptops, both have enough space to load the game but I keep getting this message that pops up on BOTH.. A problem accured when trying to transfer the file 'TSData\Res\Sound\Voice1.package' from the media ... Any ideas on what's going on?

One has windows 8 i know the sims won't work on it figured i'd give it a shot anyway and the other has xp. I've never had any issues with the sims 2 on other computers so I don't know whats going on. any help would be appreciated

Uhh, your disk could be scratched.
It sounds like it's actually having a problem reading the data on the disk, you can try cleaning it with toothpaste (non gel kind, you want the rough white stuff). Use HOT tap water to wash the disk a bit, then spread a layer of tooth paste over the whole bottom side of the disk slowly with your finger (wash your hands first too). let it sit for a few seconds then slowly wash it off. Wipe off any excess water with a paper towel by making strokes away from the center of the disk towards the outside in straight lines.
It MIGHT work.

Since you own the sims 2, you could always "download" it from the internet somewhere. (o_o )( o_o)
