I was wondering whether to buy a Mac or a PC, which I will use entirely for Video Editing. Since I will be editing 4K videos, I need something really good.

The key feature that interests me is *reliability*. I do not want the computer to suddenly crash and loose my time and effort.

As for the software, although I have worked with Final Cut pro in the past, I have switched to Adobe Premiere Pro, so that won't be a problem.

Thank you very much in advance!

If you are using Adobe products, a PC will be the less expensive route, especially if you are building it yourself. You can also choose the quality of the components you use. One of the biggest factors for reliability in a computer is a rock solid power supply. Happy components are components that receive steady, in spec voltage.

If money isn't an issue than you can build an awesome Windows PC. Macs are more reliable iv found but Iv only had my PC crash once in 2013. I dont know about editing software though.

Since I am thinking the Mac as a possible option, my budget would be 1600 GBP max.

I suggest you go for mac as it has more features many apps on the mac store which will help u editing.
And as u will (or have) edit(ed) 4K videos Mac is the best option.
Apple is reliable as i had an old macbook 2008 and still works surprisingly fast considering the time used.
Search on the apple site for more details.
Hope This Helped.
