PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com

I live in the USA

PARTS PREFERENCES: I want to try nvidia because of the crysis game compatibility. But, I have no preference otherwise.

OVERCLOCKING: I currently do not OC, but I have considered it.

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1680 x 1050

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I was thinking about saving up my money to buy a nice 300+ video card but I read that my cpu would bottleneck a gpu that beastly. I need help choosing a video card for my setup. I would like to buy a video card that would work with my current psu, but I am willing to upgrade the psu. Also, I would like to know the absolute best card that my cpu could support.

Thanks for the reply Outlander.
I lowered my budget range because I realized I set it too high.
Also, anymore thoughts on video cards? I really don't want to upgrade my CPU.
I really just want to get a new video card and maybe a new PSU.
If I did upgrade my CPU why would I get the Phenom 955 and not one of the new AM3+ FX CPUs?

Is there a specific way that you are matching up the video card and CPU?
I think the prices have dropped or something because it says $227 not $244.
Why not get the Phenom II 965?

The difference to the 965 is a setting you can change yourself in BIOS .. Just change the multiplier and all done .

Prices do change all the time.

I included the most powerful graphics card that fitted your budget . The phenom is strong enough to run it and get the best from it

How do you know the phenom II is strong enough to run the 7790? Could I overclock my phenom I and run a 7790?

I guess what I am trying to say is that why dont I just spend 250 on a video card for my current setup? How am I supposed to know if I will be bottlenecking? Are you matching Ghz of the CPU to the Ghz of the GPU or is it memory matching or price matching.. say 100 GPU with a 100 CPU.

What is the absolute best video card that my CPU can run? HD 5450? HD 6450?

Thanks for all your help by the way Outlander.
