I want to replace the noisy corsair h100i fans. Tried to do so by taking 2 Noiseblocker eloop-P fans - horrible mistake. Very audible and annoying hum that they producde.

Side info: I have a corsair graphite case, so the 2 fans are mounted on top of the case
(radiator > case-mesh > fans > mesh cover)
So, yea, silence is really a priority.

Noctua NF-P12 are built for static pressure, supposedly very silent and their pwm cable allows me to control their rpm (which is limited to 1300 though)

Gentle Typhoons 1850, however, are supposed to have a good performance/noise ratio. But can their rpm be controlled?
I hear the accessories include a 3pin-to-4pin adaptor, so that should mean yes, right?

What do you guys think?

I don't see why you would use anything but the fans that come with it which are high SP fans and when put into silent mode using the LINK software are very silent. I have a H100i and currently the fans are running at 1100RPM. Hell my GPU is louder than the fans on the H100i.

You can also create custom profiles and curves to control how and when the fans spin up.

I followed your advise and mounted the corsair box-fans on my case. I have them running at 1100 rpm and they create an even more audible, very penetrative sound. Only that - compared to the noiseblocker eloop-P, it's less of a constant and more of a tickering sound.

You must have some super hearing because I have my tower right next to me and unless I put my ear to the top (I have a Carbide 500R) I can't discern my H100i fans from the rest of my system fans or GPU fan.

Honestly I don't think you will ever get a super quiet that you want. All fans will make some noise.

You could try using the Corsair SP fans that you can buy from Newegg but they are the same as what comes with the H100i. I don't know how well other brands will work with the H100i as Corsair designed the fans for this purpose and others may be SP but might not have high enough of a SP rating compared to the stock fans.

What can i say, it's a quiet room. But still, even if it wasn't, the sound that the corsair box-fans produce was really loud and annoying. I know there will always be this airflow-sound. But what's made both fans that i had installed on the h100i unbearable so far was the sound that their bearing or whatever produces.

The thing is, i find the corsair fans unbearable. So, im referring to the original question which of these 2 models can anyone recommend - Noctua NF-P12 or Gentle Typhoons?
